Friday Night Yoga Nidra
Membership

At Flow and Restore, we are deep into the yogic meditation practice, Yoga Nidra. An ancient meditation practice that brings stillness and deep relaxation to the body, while bringing the mind to a state of one-pointed concentration.

-

Join us live, over Zoom Conference line every Friday night at 9 pm, EST for a Yoga Nidra session, led by one of our facilitators.

We'll send you some instructions and add you to a calendar event with the zoom information, so you can set up your reminders just the way you like them.

And, every weekend we will send you the recording of the most recent session.

In addition to having access to them live on Friday, you'll maintain access to all of these recordings to use for your personal practice in perpetuity.

Lastly, you are invited to join us on the first Friday of every month for an additional 15-Minutes after the session is complete for a Q & A, with Flow and Restore's founder to answer any questions you may have about the practice of Yoga Nidra.

There are three ways to participate:

So, what is Yoga Nidra, really?

Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the "going-to-sleep" stage, typically induced by a guided meditation. Yoga Nidra, with its deep breathing and mental focusing techniques, quickly stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, or "relaxation response" and evidence shows that, in addition to immediate benefits of deep breathing, yoga nidra can support the relief of chronic stress over time.

Today, a lot of people practice Yoga Nidra in order to fall asleep. And, while there is nothing wrong with falling asleep during a Yoga Nidra practice or utilizing the practice to support you with that, it's important to remember that the intention of the practice is actually to not fall asleep. While we practice, we remain conscious and alert and reap the benefits of doing so when it comes time to rest at the end of our day.

There has never been a better time to develop a regular meditation and deep relaxation practice than this moment in history. The long-term impact of the coronavirus on people financially, socially, and psychologically has yet to be seen. We are committed to making practices that enhance well-being and the experience of relaxation for people at a highly affordable rate. We hope you'll consider joining us...

Give it a try!

As with many experiential practices, you could get any number of things out of practicing Yoga Nidra. But it's difficult to explain a state of being where the body is at rest, while the mind is alert but empty. It's much jucier to just experience it for yourself...

This recording was originally delivered as a part of the Winter Solstice Healing Series, Keep it UP!, which was offered by Spirit of a Woman Leadership Development Institute, LLC, back in 2018.

My sleep after Yoga Nidra is something I look forward to every week, literally. I fall asleep instantly, deeply, and tend to sleep more peacefully and calmly than other nights. (I don’t have my recurring nightmares on Friday nights. Wonder why... 🤔)

So often this meditation actually has me release exhausting emotions and worries that I hadn’t even realized I was holding on to. The release feels almost physical, even though I’m just laying on my mat or bed doing absolutely nothing but listening to my instructor.

In the midst of this pandemic life and chaotic world, weekly Yoga Nidra with Flow and Restore has been such a blessing. Thank you 🙏🏻😌💕
